An intriguing blend, the 2013 True Vineyard Immigrant is composed of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 32% Merlot aged in 67% new French oak for 20 months. This is a great showing in a complex wine, with notes of white chocolate, forest floor, blueberry and black raspberry. It’s intense and full without being heavy, attributable to the Cabernet Franc component. This wine has great color, already burgeoning complexity, and gorgeous texture and length. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

The 2013 Immigrant True Vineyard, Outpost's Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend, is one of the highlights in this range. Explosive and powerful to the core, with superb depth, the 2013 has it all. The Franc aromatics literally soar out of the glass, while the Merlot gives the wines its pliancy and sensuality. Mocha, espresso, wild flowers and all sorts of dark fleshed stone fruits meld into the textured finish.
Mocha, plums, espresso, dark spices and blue/purplish fruit blossom in the 2013 Immigrant, Outpost's Cabernet Franc/Merlot blend. This is the first vintage in which the varieties seem especially integrated on the palate, which can almost certainly be attributed to an increased use of co-fermentations. The Cabernet Franc is especially evident in the aromatics, but all the elements are in the right place. The 2013 is quite young and is likely to require at last a few years in bottle to come around, but it is striking, even today.
