Bright, full red. Smoky reduction to the aromas of red fruits, mocha and meat. Juicy, spicy and tightly wound, with raspberry and redcurrant flavors complicated by hints of tobacco, iron and earth. Finishes savory and persistent, with supple tannins.

25% stems (30+ % in 2010). Several different parcels from three different growers. Deep crimson. Bitter cherry nose – quite pure and substantial. Spicy – almost cinnamon! Grainy, dry finish. But lots of oomph and clear, crunchy, bright fruit. A very good village wine. (JR)
(50% vendange entier; not yet racked; 25% new oak): Wild, reduced aromas of raspberry, spices, iron and fresh blood. Full and rich, offering lovely depth to the ripe flavors of black raspberry, smoke and spices. Finishes with rather full-blown notes of chocolate and toffee.
An earthy and notably sauvage nose of dark berry fruit scents introduces tension-filled and well-detailed middle weight flavors that possess a cool and clean mouth feel, all wrapped in a lightly mineral-inflected, mildly austere and well-balanced finish that offers reasonably good depth and length.
