Memento Mori's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard was picked on September 3, before the Labor Day heat really kicked in. Scents of crushed stone accent black cherries on the nose of this medium- to full-bodied wine. Firmly structured, yet with a long, silky finish, it simply needs a bit of time to soften some of those tannins that didn't get a chance to mature further on the vine. Unlike some of the later-picked 2022s, this is definitely not a wine for early consumption.

All Clone 6 from a single block, the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard offers spicy red and black currants, darker cherries, leather, and roasted herbs, with beautiful loamy earth notes. Full-bodied, round, and supple on the palate, it's not a massive wine but offers beautiful elegance, fine tannins, and outstanding length. Drink over the coming 15-20 years.
