Intense and powerful – much more powerful than Pernand often is. Good stuff! Perfect balance and great charm. Full ripeness. Low yields thanks to coulure and hail apparently. Bravo! GV (JR)

The 2014 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Sous Frétille has a delightful bouquet with freshly sliced pear, lime flower, dandelion and chalk. I like the intensity here--this really soars from the glass. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity, some oak to be subsumed on the second half, and there is pleasant weight in the mouth with quite a sensual, peach skin finish. This comes highly recommended.
