Sold out at the domaine. Very classic nose with honey and nuts and a positively granola-and-yoghurt-like appeal. Really pretty gorgeous with great balance. (JR)

As always the 2014 Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg Cuvée Sainte Catherine, it is sourced from the family's oldest (60 years) Riesling plots, situated on the mid Schlossberg slope, so with the best exposition. Logically it is the richest, ripest and most complex dry Riesling of the domaine. The 2014 displays a clear and intense lemon flavor on the nose, is very precise and mineral, and very, very deep. The piquant and finessed attack on the palate is followed by a very elegant and balanced flow on the palate, which clearly indicates a higher ripeness than the regular Schlossberg, but displays the same salty finish. There is more lemon chutney and roundness here but also more finesse. The finish is round and elegant, very well balanced and absolutely lingering in its salinity. A great Schlossberg Grand Cru: powerful and intense but also subtle and elegant. A long distance runner. Catherine recommends this iconic cuvée "with fish in sauce, lobster and some poultry dishes."
