The 2009 Monthelie Les Duresses is just as delicious from bottle as it was from barrel. Silky, ripe tannins and radiant fruit caress the palate in this expressive, supple and hugely delicious wine.

Good medium red. Liqueur-like strawberry, raspberry and chocolate on the expressive nose, with an almost roasted ripeness. Rich, lush and fat with fruit and chocolate. Almost thick for this wine. Finishes with good breadth. Plenty of early appeal here.
The 2009 Monthélie Les Duresses is, as expected, juicier and riper than the cooler 2008, yet every bit as compelling. Radiant fruit caresses the palate through to the finish. This is a great introduction to the wines of Dominique Lafon.
