Note di degustazione
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques has turned out nicely, offering up rich aromas of smoky berries, plums, cedar spice box, orange zest and grilled squab, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and supple palate that's layered and seamless. Out of barrel, Clos Saint-Jacques can be one of the domaine's more muscular wines, but this year's rendition is very charming.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques 1er Cru showed a little reduction on the nose, but there is real intensity here and great depth. Mulberry, raspberry, wild strawberry, and loamy notes come through with time. The medium-bodied palate has supple tannins and is very smooth in texture, though there is still a little new oak to be assimilated on the finish. Excellent depth and concentration overall; I need to reassess this in bottle to see if it ranks amongst legends of the past.(NM)
