The 2014 Chablis 1Er Cru Beauroy has a crisp, fresh and very poised bouquet with wonderful definition--very stony with faint hints of the sea. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, touches of brown spice coming through with fine depth and a precise, detailed finish that lingers long in the mouth. This beautiful Beauroy appears to be improving in bottle and I foresee a lot of pleasure ahead in this classy wine.

Very pale yellow with green highlights. Very tight lemony nose. Brisk and pure but youthfully austere, with the flavors of lemon, stone and menthol revealing limited nuance in the early going. This is actually smoother than the Côte de Léchet but less expressive today. Finishes with strong lemony tang.
Very closed after the recent bottling, hinting at a brothy, yeasty quality. Then sharply chiseled in the mouth, conveying a downright lacy quality to its citrus and saline mineral flavors. Delivers a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity and finishes fine-grained, sophisticated and long, with lovely lingering perfume. A thin layer of white clay in this vineyard makes this wine more expressive in its youth, notes Tribut. In fact, I find this wine surprisingly accessible today even if it will be better with time in the cellar.
