1999 La Spinetta Barbaresco Starderi

La Spinetta's 1999 Barbaresco Vigneto Starderi is deep, rich and beautifully textured from start to finish. Oddly enough, the Starderi appear to have been more shaped by the new French oak than the Gallina, which is hardly the impression I get when the wine is young. Stylistically, the Starderi is a bit sweeter and riper than the Gallina, with gorgeous vibrancy and freshness for the year. Today, though, the Starderi is the most mature of these 1999 Barbarescos from La Spinetta.
