Note di degustazione
Good medium red with a hint of amber at the rim. Complex aromas of ripe cherry, menthol and wild herbs; very Clos Vougeot. Silky-sweet, dense and energetic; sappy, fruit-driven wine with excellent stuffing. Rigorous and taut without being hard. A superb vintage for this wine. Alain Meunier told me he did a strict triage in 2008, and the selection has clearly paid off here.

Light red Spangles notes on the nose. Rather simple. Though no great faults. (JR)
(the malolactic finished early, in March of 2009) Deep ruby-red. Sexy aromas of black cherry, licorice, minerals and dark chocolate; "almost too open on the nose," notes Meunier, despite the fact that the wine's pH is under 3.5, which is unusually low for this cuvee Sweet, dense and solid, with nicely integrated acidity giving the wine good energy. Spreads out and builds on the palate-saturating back end, which features lovely violet lift. This was 12.8% natural alcohol chaptalized to 13.2%, according to Meunier, or virtually identical to the Romanee-Saint-Vivant.
