Note di degustazione
Almonds, candied lemon peel, wild flowers, chamomile and spices are some of the notes that emerge from Philipponnat's 1995 Clos des Goisses. Layered and subtle in the glass, the 1995 is also a bit more forward than some of the other vintages in this tasting. As such, it is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next 15-20 years or so. Stylistically, the 1995 doesn't quite have the energy or thrust of the very best years. Disgorged February 2012.

Disgorged February 2012. Aromas of green fruit as a well as something more savoury and yeasty, that yeastiness marked on the palate. A fellow taster suggested Marmite (yeast extract) but I found the savoury yeastiness more subtle than that. Being very picky, the acidity is just a little on the ascerbic side. This wine probably suffered to some extent by being paired with the superb 1976. Both were good with the cheese, however. (JH)
Mid gold. Light nose. Lacy textured. A little lighter than, say, the 1992 and the 1989. Transparent. Firm and reverberant. Very tight and tense. Seems as though it still has a very bright future. (JR)
