1996 Plantagenet - Shiraz Mount Barker

Red-ruby color. Gamey aromas of raspberry, iris and woodsmoke. High-pitched on the palate and currently lacking texture and pliancy; will this evolve and soften with bottle age? There decent sweet fruit on the back end, but this wine is quite bound-up today. May ultimately merit a higher score.
