Note di degustazione
Medium red. Wild, expressive aromas of raspberry, strawberry, smoke and underbrush. Sweet, supple and rich but youthfully backward. Builds impressively toward the back end, showing strong saline minerality and a serious acid/tannin spine. This shows more focus in bottle than it did from barrel a year ago. I'd give it a couple years in the cellar before pulling the cork.

The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin is a very serious wine at this level. It boasts incredible finesse and sheer energy in a polished, pure expression of Gevrey. Ripe red berries, minerals and licorice are some of the notes that inform the wiry, intense finish. The average age of the vines is 40 years.
Aromatic, pure, lightly spiced. Good depth, light chew but with the fruit to fill the structure. Very moreish and lively. (JH)
(from Mortet's youngest village parcels, which still average 40 years of age; 50% new oak): Bright red. Raspberry aroma currently dominated by oak; showing less lift and perfume than the Marsannay. Then moderately rich but a bit imploded in the mouth, with somewhat diffuse flavors of red fruits and spicy oak. Some wood tannins give the finish a slightly dry edge and an impression of youthful rigidity.
