The 1999 M. Chapoutier Côte-Rôtie Les Bécasses is stunning and shows extremely rich cassis and blackberry fruit aromas that are framed by smoke, espresso, bacon and earthy notes. As this warmed up in the glass, it continued to open up, gaining richness, depth and complexity. Medium to full bodied, this pair’s awesome, fat and lush fruit with killer structure, serious tannins and a long finish.
