Deep shimmering ruby-red. Assertive, mineral-laced red berry liqueur, spicecake and potpourri aromas are complemented by suggestions of cola and succulent herbs. Juicy, sharply focused raspberry, bitter cherry and candied lavender flavors show superb concentration and turn sweeter with air. The sappy, extremely long finish is given shape by supple, slow-building tannins that fold smoothly into the wine's vibrant red fruit. (JR)
