Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2022-2026, Josh Raynolds, Feb 2021

Glistening red. Expressive aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, potpourri and baking spices; a smoky element builds with air. Taut and sharply focused on entry, then fleshier in the midpalate, offering vibrant black raspberry and boysenberry flavors along with hints of candied lavender, smoked meat and licorice. Finishes spicy and quite long, with repeating florality and slow-building tannins.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2020-2028, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Nov 2020

I know the 2018 La Bruja de Rozas pretty well, not only because I have tasted it repeatedly before but also because it's a wine that I always buy, and I've gone through a case of this excellent 2018 already. But I wanted to put it in context of the rest of 2018s and the 2019 that was also bottled at the time of this tasting in November 2020. Time in bottle has also done it good: there is more finesse, the herbal notes have been polished, and the light comes through more clearly. The palate is more austere, more serious, think cold stones, sharp and narrow. This is getting more serious. This is the finest vintage for this cuvée to date and an excellent value. A wine to buy by the case... if it's still available! 53,478 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2019.

Slate, blackberry and black-cherry aromas that follow through to a full body with density and tight, layered tannins. Some Spanish-cedar undertones. An opulent yet polished and silky mouth feel. Drink or hold.
