Note di degustazione
100% Chardonnay. Bunch pressed, the juice was then cold settled for 48 hours before being racked to new French oak barrels for fermentation at 15-19 °C with selected yeast. Malolactic fermentation was carried out in barrel (up to 30% completion). Bottled September 2012. Quite leesy and sweet so not quite as refreshing as some. Decent rather than thrilling. (JR)

The 2011 Chardonnay possesses a lovely, tropical scented nose with notes of pink guava and pineapple over hints of butterscotch, cashews and honey-drizzled apricots plus a touch of toasty oak. Medium to full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, it has a silken texture and tons of tropical and stone fruit flavors. It finishes long with the oak poking through just a little. Approachable now, it should drink best 2014 to 2019+. Importer: Epicurean Wines, Seattle, WA; tel. (206) 923-1376
Bright yellow. Smoky, lees-accented aromas of pear skin, sweet butter, iodine and chamomile are lifted by a bright note of orange pith. Powerful and concentrated but lively, with a tactile quality to its sappy orchard fruit and brioche flavors. Very long and perfumed on a finish distinguished by notes of sweet butter, smoke and anise. There's a Meursault-like quality to this wine that I find highly appealing.
