The 2010 Premium Chardonnay opens with intense notes of apricots, dried pineapple, green mango and honeysuckle with nuances of cashews, musk and wet pebbles plus a whiff of cinnamon toast. Medium-bodied and densely packed with concentrated flavors, it has a vibrant acid line and a long, satiny texture that carries through a wonderfully long finish. Superb! Drink it now to 2018+. Bass Phillip has been quietly making world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Leongatha, South Gippsland, since the 1990s. The estate’s wines were long sold almost exclusively in Australia, meaning that the producer remains relatively little-known beyond its native shores.
