The 2019 Chardonnay Edward James Estate is spicy and alluring with scents of lemon cream, white peaches and graham crackers. The medium-bodied palate is spicy and expansive with dynamic flavor layers, energetic acidity and a long, flavorful finish.

The 2019 Chardonnay Edward James Estate brings more of everything and is just a magical, heavenly Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley. It brings classic, rich Russian River opulence paired with flawless balance, beautiful acidity, and incredible length. Lots of crushed citrus, honeyed lemon, crushed stone, white flowers, toasted brioche, and some sappy green herbs all define the bouquet, followed by flawlessly integrated oak, high yet bright acidity, and fabulous length on the finish. This beauty is going to pick up a little more complexity with 2-3 years of bottle age, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it evolve for 10-15 years or more. It’s beautifully done.
The 2019 Chardonnay Edward James Estate shows the more exuberant side of Russian River Chardonnay while remaining faithful to the more laid back style that is the norm at Paul Hobbs today. Apricot, tangerine peel, hazelnut, spice and light honeyed notes. This is a classic expression of Hyde Wente Clone Chardonnay on Goldridge soils.
