Note di degustazione
The 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino sports a deeper red hue and a richer, more immediate personality, with tobacco, blood orange, ripe cherries, and iron-tinged earth. Medium to full-bodied, it has a slightly fleshier texture and broader tannins than the 2021, yet it stays balanced and avoids heaviness. It’s already quite approachable and should drink best over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2036. Tomasso Squarcia has been steadily raising the bar at his family estate located on the northern slopes of Montalcino. Don’t mistake Tomasso’s carefree and approachable demeanor for a lack of seriousness. He and the wines are certainly beginning to carve a path, leading the charge for this new generation of winegrowers, and they will be worth having on your radar now.

Just mid ruby. Subtle oak notes over cherry with savoury touches. Complex and intriguing. Elegant and light of touch, long and focused with finely grained tannins adding depth on the finish. It is so fine right now, you do not want to wait to open this. (WS)
Steeped plums, minty herbs, cedar shavings and hints of flint come together as the 2020 Brunello di Montalcino A.D. 1441 blossoms in the glass. This displays textures of pure silk and a racy, sleek persona, with ripe red berry fruits that slowly saturate beneath an air of sweet violet florals. The 2020 tapers off with depth and concentration, leaving a web of fine-grained tannins. Nuances of lavender pastille emerge while finishing long yet remarkably fresh. This is beautifully done.
