Violet, opulent red fruit, generous and fragrant – shows off the terroir capability of Givry in a very classic but fruit-driven way. Very enjoyable – that lifted floral note lasts well. (RH)

Richer and more muscular than the elegant, charming 2017, the 2018 Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier Aux Moines unwinds in the glass to reveal notes of sweet berries, licorice, peonies, spices and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, with powdery tannins and a concentrated core of fruit, it's the fruit of low yields after the Clos du Cellier Aux Moines was impacted by hail.
