Vivid ruby. Intensely perfumed cherry pit, mulberry and boysenberry scents are complemented by suggestions of anise and savory herbs. Sappy, penetrating and alluringly sweet on the palate, offering concentrated, spice-laced cherry, dark berry and floral pastille flavors that unfurl slowly with aeration. Possesses very good depth as well as vivacity and finishes spicy and extremely long, with slow-building tannins adding shape and grip. Roughly 10% whole clusters and 25% new oak.
