Note di degustazione
Good deep red. Musky black cherry aroma, with a note of coffee torrefaction. Sweet, supple, and nicely concentrated, with harmonious acidity framing the dense blueberry and tar flavors. Finishes with strong tannins and very good length. The best balanced and most delineated of these 2007s.

Monforte d'Alba. Concentrated ruby. Sweet fruit and herbal notes and hint of leather, holding back the fruit on the palate. (WS)
The 2007 Barolo Le Coste-Mosconi is a fascinating wine to taste next to the Mariondino. While the Mariondino shows the more restrained, Burgundian side of Nebbiolo, the Le Coste-Mosconi is all about power. Made from a south-facing site in Monforte, the Le Coste-Mosconi emerges with layers of dark black fruit, espresso, tar, spices, licorice and new leather, revealing gorgeous inner perfume and remarkable harmony. This is more restrained and inward than some of the other 2007s here and is likely to require a few additional years of bottle age. Tar, smoke and scorched earth add complexity on the big, building finish.
