2019 Halos de Jupiter Chateauneuf-du-Pape Adrastee

I was blown away by the 2019 Châteauneuf du Pape Adrastée, which is 100% very old vine Grenache from the famed La Crau lieu-dit that was destemmed and aged in once-used 600-liter demi-muids. Ultra-pure, full-bodied, and straight-up seamless on the palate, it has a wonderfully complex bouquet of kirsch liqueur, blackberries, ground herbs, pepper, and new leather, with some floral notes developing as it sits in the glass. It’s a head-turning, complex, powerful, yet elegant Châteauneuf du Pape I’d be thrilled to drink any time over the coming 15+.
