2018 Francois Chidaine Montlouis Les Bournais Franc de Pied

The 2018 Montlouis Les Bournais Franc de Pied (from ungrafted vines) is more ethereal than the straight Les Bournais. Strong mineral/saline accents and bright acids give the Franc de Pied its incredibly distinctive personality. I would cellar the 2018 for at least a few years, as it is nowhere near ready to drink. This is an especially dry, bracing style. The 2018 is a wine of mind-blowing intensity and character. In a word: magnificent!
