Note di degustazione
The 2020 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a burly, powerful nose, just a small reduction that seems to blow away with aeration. Honeysuckle and lanolin hints emerge with time, giving it a slightly more evolved bouquet. The palate is rich and honeyed, implying perhaps some premature oxidation, but rather, it is just made in a richer, sunnier style. It doesn't have close to the tension and detail of the best wines of the flight and falls below what I would expect from a Grand Cru. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from three parcels. This has quite a strict bouquet, just a touch of reduction to contend with at the moment, but nicely focused. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and quite zesty although it does not quite deliver the precision of the Charlemagne on the finish at the moment.
