Note di degustazione
The 1999 Vosne-Romanée Aux Reignots 1er Cru has an earthy bouquet, dark berry fruit with quite a potent marine scent intermixed with liquorice. The palate is sturdy and marked by tough tannins at the moment, though to me, given the vintage, it just pulls up a bit short on the finish. Here, outplayed by the '97. Tasted at Christie's Bouchard Père's pre-auction dinner at Noble Rot Mayfair.

Deep ruby. Superripe aromas of blackberry liqueur, raspberry and dark chocolate, along with some minty high tones; I was reminded of both ruby port and Languedoc syrah. Thick, huge and almost aggressively youthful; very powerful but is it pinot? Firm acids give shape to the flavors. Finishes quite powerful and long, with a late note of coffee.
