Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2019-2024, Jeb Dunnuck, Apr 2019

The 2017 Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru comes from the southern part of Meursault, from 35-year-old vines, and spent 11 months in neutral barrels. It has a beautiful perfume of white flowers, honeysuckle, mulled stone fruits, and oysters shell-like minerality. It’s medium-bodied, has good concentration, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It’s impeccably made and well worth seeking out. It should keep for 5-7 years.

Attractive peach and nutty aromas, with much more conviction than their St-Romain. Heavy, pithy texture. Finishes with a touch of toffee character and slightly bruised fruit suggesting an oxidative influence. (RH)

The 2017 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru unfurls in the glass with a vivid bouquet of crisp green apple, pear, Meyer lemon and oyster shell. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy but cool and controlled, with bright acids and a mineral finish. The high altitude site tempers the sun kissed charm of the vintage.

(this fruit was picked around September 6): Pale, bright yellow. Subdued, slightly metallic minerality along with scents of lemon, lime, licorice and fresh herbs on the aromatic nose. At once supple and brisk, with an element of calcaire -driven saline minerality giving the wine a firm shape and a gently penetrating character. This very fresh, moderately concentrated midweight offers attractive balance and good chalky energy.
