Note di degustazione
A smaller production cuvée, the 2020 Crozes-Hermitage Le Rouvre is a clear step up, with more density, depth, and length. More red, blue, and black fruits as well as leather, iron, and peppery herbs emerge on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a focused, elegant mouthfeel, plenty of tannins, and outstanding length. Give bottles a year or three and enjoy over the following decade.

Inky violet. Heady, spice-accented red and dark berry scents, along with suggestions of smoky minerals, olive, cured tobacco and licorice. Juicy and lithe on the palate, offering palate-staining bitter cherry, black raspberry and exotic spice flavors that deepen and turn sweeter through the midpalate. Shows superb definition and mineral lift on a wonderfully long, smooth finish that features well-knit tannins and lingering suggestions of cracked pepper and candied violet. 15% whole clusters; raised in 600-liter oak barrels, 10% of them new.
100% Syrah. Cask sample. Lifted red- and dark-berry fruit. Full and generous on the palate with a firmness of tannin. Slightly chewy finish, the tannins again present. Needs a bit of time. (JL)
