Note di degustazione
Unusually pale and greenish. On the nose I suddenly see a relationship with Catena Alta, which is strange since Paul Hobbs hasn’t worked there for years! This is one of the tightest, most reticent Chardonnays of the lot. Pretty hot and alcoholic on the finish but some restraint and chewiness on the palate. I found it a bit hot and then found 14.7% on the label. Just a bit much for me. But at least it’s made to develop in bottle. I may be being a bit harsh on this wine. (JR)

(aged in 60% new oak) Good pale color. Leesy aromas of lemon, lime and pit fruits, with a cool suggestion of menthol. Plump and rich but nicely firmed by fresh acidity. Rather soft flavor of mirabelle
The elegant 2004 Chardonnay Russian River offers up notions of citrus oil and white peaches in a medium-bodied, refreshing style with great fruit as well as subtle wood. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. (Release date 3/06) Tel. (707) 824-9879; Fax (707) 824-5843
