2021 Keller Piesporter Schubertslay Riesling Kabinett Auction AP 36

Own-rooted centenarian vines on blue slate produced just 15 hl/ha in 2021. RS 38 g/l. Basket-pressed. Cask sample. Deep and slightly smoky. Very ripe, smoky citrus, less flirtatious and exotic than most of the 2021 Kabs. Very ripe citrus with orange notes and the sweetness of greengage but still with a herbal lift. On the palate, passion fruit, spice and sour pear. With a slight grip in the texture giving it a long, intense, chewy lemon finish. Power and perfect balance that leaves your mouth feeling dry and intensely stimulated by flavour and texture. Mineral salty finish.  (JH)
