Coming from the Devoto Vineyard and aged 10 months in roughly 40% new French oak, the 2014 Chardonnay Genevieve’s Block is slightly deeper and richer than the Nancie cuvee and offers sensational notes of honeysuckle, buttered citrus, and ample minerality. Rich, concentrated, medium to full-bodied and impeccably balanced, it’s a beautiful, seriously good Chardonnay to drink over the coming 4-5 years.

From Goldridge soils and a single-vineyard on a west-facing hillside not far from the village of Sebastopol, the 2014 Chardonnay Genevieve’s Block displays a beautiful greenish/light gold color, notes of spice box, honeysuckle, caramelized citrus and wet pebbles, and a medium to full-bodied, somewhat grand cru Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet-like green citrus and apple blossom and honeyed richness. This is full-bodied, powerful, and impressive. It was aged 10 months in 38% new French oak prior to bottling and should drink well for 5-7 years.
The 2014 Chardonnay Genevieve's Block emerges from a site on the Sonoma Coast. Lemon confit, white flowers, apricot pit and chamomile notes are some of the scents that lift from the glass. There is a real sense of oiliness and texture that gives the wine striking depth and creaminess. This is a fabulous Chardonnay from Donelan.
