Note di degustazione
(a Bordeaux blend based on 66% cabernet franc) Bright ruby-red. Perfumed, cool nose shows lovely floral lift. Subtle berry flavors are perked up by spice and floral elements. Nicely understated wine with a subtle sweetness and good juicy persistence.

The 2007 The Falstaff (66% Cabernet Franc, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest equal parts Merlot and Petit Verdot) reveals beautiful aromas of blueberries, raspberries, bouquet garni, wood spice, espresso, and smoky oak. It possesses outstanding texture, sweet, velvety tannins, and an opulent, fleshy mouthfeel. The high proportion of Cabernet Franc will lead to more and more complex aromatics as the wine ages in bottle. It should age easily for 15+ years. An outstanding, small, high quality winery that did not make it into my Napa report in issue #186, Realm has turned out a beautiful portfolio of 2007 reds, all of which are made at Chateau Boswell in Napa Valley. The innovative blends (all dedicated to William Shakespeare) are of very high quality. Tel. (707) 967-0226; Fax (707) 967-0227
