Note di degustazione
An overperformer in a challenging vintage, the 2000 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru is drinking beautifully, bursting with aromas of incense, dark chocolate, raspberries, plums and grilled game bird. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with sweet tannins and a rich core of fruit. The wine is at its peak, even in magnum, so readers with bottles in their cellars shouldn't hesitate to open them.

Cask sample. Full, gentle, lively. Much more classic than the Morey-Saint-Denis. Chewy finish, but promising. Lots of terroir here. (JR)
Full medium red. Extravagantly complex, thoroughly ripe nose melds berries, brown spices, mocha and underbrush, all lifted by a pungent minerality that far less apparent in the village and premier cru cuvees Thick, lush and seamless; a huge, mouthfilling fruit bomb impressive for its sheer density and dimension. This was to have been bottled early, in January. "What would be gained by waiting?" asked Brouin in November.
