Note di degustazione
(this and the following 2015s were bottled in late April; 12.7% alcohol without chaptalization): Pale yellow-green. Aromas of pineapple, minerals, wet stone and white flowers. Juicy, penetrating wine with lovely minerality. Silkier than the Saint-Aubin en Remilly but also with excellent energy for the vintage. This rather powerful wine has not shut down yet from the bottling. Finishes with excellent length and no heaviness. The yield here was just 35 hectoliters per hectare due to the age of the vines and to the dry season.

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Baudines was one of Pierre-Yves' wines to show a touch of reduction on the nose and this slightly detracted from its delineation. The palate is well balanced with fine weight in the mouth, although that element of reduction persists, therefore I advise giving it two to three years once in bottle, because a very decent Chassagne will eventually emerge.
Cask sample. Quite like Chevenottes but 50 m higher and a bit more clayey. Ripens about a week later than Chenevottes. The Morgeot of elevation – power and finesse. Broad and golden. A real charmer on the nose. Perhaps less textured than the Chenevottes but should flatter early on. Picked last. (JR)
(these vines were harvested a bit later than those in Chenevottes but with potential alcohol of only 12.6%): Bright yellow with green highlights. Deeply pitched aromas of lime and wet-stone minerality. Fat, fleshy and sweet but in a slightly looser-knit style than the Chenevottes and not showing the same éclat . More fleshy but less brisk and delineated, even if it possesses adequate acidity. I wanted more thrust.
