The 2015 Meurault Village les Grands Charrons, which was taken from stainless steel and saw 20% new oak including 40% in demi-muids, has an elegant and refined bouquet with apple blossom and granite aromas, a touch of almond in the background. The palate is crisp on the entry with impressive salinity and a fine line of acidity. Perhaps not as clinical as the 2014 when I tasted it last year, yet there is a gentle build in the mouth and it finishes with some lovely grilled walnut and fumé-like notes that linger.

(Bouzereau's two hectares of 35-year-old vines in Les Grands Charrons comprise multiple parcels): Pale, bright yellow with a green tinge. Fruity scents of ripe citrus and peach are accompanied by hints of menthol and anise. Quite soft and slightly warm, but with good purity to the easygoing fruit. A wine of modest tension.
