Light garnet. Lovely pungent nose. Masses of pleasure and a little bit of biscuit allure. Refined texture and great balance even if not a really long-lived wine. Clean finish. (JR)

Jeremy Seysses is a leading advocate of including stems in the fermentation process though I am not sure what percentage of whole bunch went into this wine, as it varies from vintage to vintage. A touch of smoky/rubbery reduction at first, spicy and a little smoky on the palate too. The fruit is not particularly generous on the mid palate so that the finish is a little tough and dry. Maybe it still needs to come round? (JH)
Dujac's 2012 Morey St. Denis shows the exuberant side of the year, even if reductive notes mask some of the purity of the fruit. Bold pomegranate, spice, plum and orange peel notes emerge from a pliant, expressive Burgundy that at present shows some slightly angular contours that need bottle age to soften.
