(from the estate's oldest vines, at 66 years of age; but a tiny cuvee, at just four barrels) Cooler on the nose than the Batard, showing citrus fruits and hazelnut. Less full in the mouth, with juicy but tight flavors of citrus peel and flowers supported by firm underlying minerality. In shape and density, this reminded me of the Combettes.

Elegant and remarkably complex aromas of honeysuckle, peach, pear and citrus trimmed in subtle notes of brioche merge into sophisticated, pure and silky flavors that are understated and gorgeously pure, all wrapped in a hugely long finish of simply stunning intensity. As good as the Combettes is, and it is indeed most impressive, this is a clear step up.

(the oldest vines of the domain, at 66 years of age, but Boudot says that they're still in good health) Aromas of peach and nutty oak, with subtle notes of flowers and spices. Very intense and suave, with complex, precise flavors of lemon cream, hawthorn and minerals. This boasts terrific depth yet remains light on its feet, especially in the context of the vintage. Finishes floral, subtle and very long. A lovely showing.
