Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2024-2040, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Sep 2024

The structure of 2010 allows the highly extracted fruit and oak a frame to build out around, and this has impact and character, but it struggles to really deliver a mouthwatering freshness. 50% new oak for ageing. Michel Rolland consultant, 37hl/h yield.

Deep plum colour in the core although still soft tawny around the edge, this is packed with clear liqourice notes, cassis liqueur, touches of dried fruit and fig. Enjoyable, still with fresh acidities, but feels more evolved than I would expect for such a big vintage, no need to wait to enjoy this. 70% new oak, 37hl/h yield. Harvest September 27 to October 18. Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2022-2040, Neal Martin, Apr 2020

The 2010 La Dominique has a very pure bouquet with perfumed red cherries, crushed strawberry and rose petal aromas. The oak here is evident but well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, lightly spiced but very well balanced with admirable composure and freshness towards the finish that displays cedar and white pepper notes. It just loses a bit of momentum in the glass. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal.

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 La Dominique is scented of pencil lead, menthol and leather with a core of black cherry compote, stewed plums and dried mulberries. Medium to full-bodied, it has a sturdy frame of firm, chewy tannins and lively acid supporting the muscular fruit, finishing on a lingering mineral note.
