Pale red. Really quite delicate and transparent! Real lift. Definitely sweeter than burgundy but a satisfying, well-constructed drink that just falls away a little. (JR)

Darker, more savoury and more serious than the generic Beaux Frères cuvée. Less lifted too – it's structural and quite hard at this stage. (RH)
(made from a blend of fruit from Zena Crown, Beaux Freres, Gran Moraine, Amalie Robert and Beaux Freres Upper Terrace vineyards): Vivid red. Sexy, expressive aromas of black raspberry, rose, Asian spices and mocha, with a hint of anise. Sappy and expansive on entry, then tighter in the mid-palate, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and notes of spicecake and candied flowers. Puts on weight with air and finishes with very good focus, length and subtle smokiness. This drinks very well right now.
