Punteggio 95/100 · Da bere 2040-2075, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Jan 2025

Bottled with 11 grams per liter of residual sugar, the 2015 Riesling Clos Ste Hune shows clear, dense, ripe and concentrated apricot fruit on the nose. After almost nine years in the bottle, this is round, intense and powerful on the palate yet enormously salty and always elegant. It is an extremely generous Riesling, perhaps not as effortless as the 2019 Clos Ste Hune but always elegant and balanced. This is a dense, intense and powerful, long-lasting and complex Riesling from the Rosacker, for which you should have a lot of patience. Tasted at the Auberge de l'Ill in November 2024.

Still youthful, but you feel the wine’s ample depth on the bold and full-bodied palate. A very structured wine with touches of bitterness and celery-root character that’s impressive, but not yet at its mature peak. Really opens up with aeration in the glass. Very long, creamy and caressing, slightly off-dry finish. Served from magnum. Drinkable now, but best from 2026.

They decided this medium-dry wine needed time so released it after the 2016. RS 11.9 g/l. Magnum. Pale straw colour. Creamy start. Fun to drink and rich. Long and lively with a lovely creamy texture. But the sweetness distinguishes it from many other vintages. (JR)
