Note di degustazione
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, from a mix of Block B and Block D, is another brilliant wine, if not my favorite of the trio. Cassis, graphite, tobacco, and chocolate notes make up the bulk of the nose, and it’s full-bodied, has a stunning mid-palate, and tons of obvious minerality and salinity on the finish. Aged 32 months in new barrels and with just 250 cases made, it’s well worth the extra effort to track down.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is produced from 100% of this grape. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has a powerful nose of baked plums, stewed blackberries and cassis with nuances of dried lavender and fallen leaves, plus a hint of cedar. Taut, firm and full-bodied in the mouth, the black berry layers deliver loads of savory accents, and it finishes on a persistent peppery note. 250 cases were made.
A barrel sample of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the very deep purple-black colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon VanGone Vineyard gives up bombastic cassis, baked cherries, blackberry tart and black raspberry scents with hints of mocha, lilacs, charcoal and truffles. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and grainy with loads of energy and freshness, finishing long and perfumed.
