The latest Arcane, L’Etoile is a touchstone for the future of fine wine in the Southern Rhône. A rich yet elegant wine, it lays the foundations for what is possible in these higher-altitude sites. Bright magenta in colour, the nose is super fruity and mineral with blackberries, sour cherry and violets giving an overall beautiful and pronounced perfume. The fruit is both juicy, tart and sour, with riper baked notes –delivering high-octane energy and freshness. It has fantastic concentration, with fine-grained, dusty tannins. There is a pulsating energy here that persists right through the elegant, long finish.

Xavier Vignon has become one of the Rhône Valley’s most accomplished winemakers. Despite not owning his own vineyards, Vignon’s experience consulting for over 500 different vignerons in the region has given him incredible access to some of the Rhône’s finest terroirs.
