Note di degustazione
Notes of rich berry fruit, blood orange, rose petals and spices introduce the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots (Domaine Gagey), a medium to full-bodied, velvety and ample wine that's layered and lively, with bright acids and a saline finish. This is promising.

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru has a conspicuous fish scale scent on the nose that complements the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, sappy red fruit, lightly spiced with a sinewy finish that just about manages to retain an essence of finesse. This could evolve nicely in bottle.
Cask sample. Bright and slightly translucent cherry red. Much more obvious oak at first on the nose. Toasty sweetness. Under that, intense red and darker, spicier fruit of the Côte de Nuits. Full and fresh on the palate, with a breadth of fruit. Lots of freshness and tension here, less approachable than the Beaune wines just tasted and with fine tannic length. Amazing freshness and energy. (JH)
