Note di degustazione
The 2016 Etna Rosso San Lorenzo is another thrilling wine from this producer, offering a liqueur of rocks-like minerality as well as beautiful cherry and currant fruits, notes of dried earth and spice, medium body, and a savory, layered profile. It has plenty of underlying structure and tannic grip, yet still offers ample pleasure today.

The 2016 Etna Rosso San Lorenzo is one of three Grande Terroir Ellittico wines (designated as such by the winery). This is a beautifully shaped expression of 98% Nerello Mascalese with 2% Nerello Cappuccio from ancient vines planted in soils made of compressed volcanic ash and light pumice stones. The bouquet offers mild primary fruit with lots of mineral intensity with wild herbs, rose hip and rosemary essence. The wine has the delicate nature of a Pinot Noir with the unmistakable flavor profile of the Southern Mediterranean. Dusty mineral notes and tannins make for a very dry finish. Some 10,000 bottles were made.
