Deep violet. Displays spicy black and blue fruits, pungent flowers and smoky minerals on the perfumed nose. Juicy and expansive in the mouth, offering energetic boysenberry and bitter cherry flavors that turn sweeter on the back half. The dark berry note carries through a smooth, smoke- and spice-tinged finish that lingers with strong persistence.
A blend of 51% Shiraz, 32% Grenache and 17% Mourvèdre, Duval's 2017 Plexus is marked by 15 months in French oak. Scents of mocha, cedar and caramel join hints of cherries and spice on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is smooth and supple, finishing harmonious and long.
This has richness that drives from the shiraz corner with fragrant, grenache red fruit and a deep tone at the finish, thanks to mourvedreâs blue fruit. A well crafted blend of shiraz, grenache and mourvedre. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
