Note di degustazione
The ruby-colored 1997 Clos St.-Denis reveals sweet candied cherry aromas, intermingled with violets, roses, and spices. It possesses outstanding breadth, precision, and lace-like finesse, yet also reveals an impressive underlying power. This expressive, red berry-flavored, and admirably persistent wine is already a delight to drink, yet has the capacity to mature and evolve over the next 8-10 years. Medium red. Deeper pitched, complex aromas of black raspberry, gunpowder, mulch, smoke and charred oak. Big and rich in the mouth, with excellent depth of flavor and solid underlying structure. Note of tarry oak. Smooth, fresh and very persistent on the finish. I like this.
