From the highest Wente clone vines on the property, the 2018 Chardonnay Sweetwater Vineyard has delicate aromas of citrus blossoms, hazelnuts and pastry with gentle white peach and stony notes. Medium-bodied, it’s silky and expansive in the mouth, fleshing out to honeyed character and zeroing back for a long, lively, mineral-driven finish.

The 2018 Chardonnay Sweetwater is Wente Clone from the steepest part of the property. Creamy and ample in feel, the Sweetwater is one of the more overt wines in this lineup. Orange confit, toast, dried flowers and slate infuse the 2018 with striking layers of complexity. Bright, stony notes add focus to the super-expressive finish. (AG)
