Punteggio 92/100 · Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, May 2019

Medium brick colored, the 1987 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour gives up scents of prunes, dried blueberries, tobacco and tapenade with touches of mossy bark, bay leaves and dusty soil. Light to medium-bodied, delicately styled and with racy freshness on the savory palate, it has a nice, long earth-laced finish. 16,000 cases were made.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2019-2028, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Apr 2019

Healthy dark red with little sign of amber at the rim. Aromas of cassis, dark cherry, cedar and black olive convey an impression of medicinal reserve. At once dense and juicy, showing good intensity and savory soil tones but still a bit folded in on itself. A fairly powerful wine, not edgy or dry. A second, slightly better bottle was a bit more vibrant and forthcoming on the nose and more pliant in the mid-palate. (12.9% alcohol; 3.36 pH; 6.5 g/l acidity)

Medium red. Raspberry and plum fruit aromas along with roasted nuts and resiny oak, plus obtrusive mint and vegetal nuances. Rather fumey and high-toned in the mouth, with sharp acids and a pronounced mintiness. Finishes with drying oak tannins.
