(from a 20-year-old vineyard planted to clones): Modestly saturated pale red--as usual for this cuvée . Aromas of red berries, rose petal and peony are clearly floral but a bit diffuse. Nicely aromatic if smaller-scaled on the palate, in a supple, savory, rather open-knit style. This is likely to offer early appeal and evolve fairly quickly.

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny les Chabiots 1er Cru comes from 0.25-hectare of vines from which Laurent Lignier buys fruit to make two or three barrels. It has a floral, candied bouquet with kirsch, redcurrants and touches of hoisin, quite extravagant and showy in style, scent of orange cordial developing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy, caressing opening. This feels very effervescent in the mouth with blood orange and quince jus, harmonious right towards the finish. This has good potential for ageing, although I think its comeliness will ensure that it will also drink with just a year in bottle.

A vineyard between Amoureuses and Le Musigny, bought in since 2010. Very well situated. One owner owns more of the just-over 1 ha. Very floral and winning on the nose. Very smooth and perfumed with a menthol note as well. Very long. A find! (JR)

A more elegant and slightly higher-toned nose is composed by aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, spice and discreet floral nuances. The sleek if mildly fruity middle weight flavors offer an appealing sense of energy but surprisingly little complexity; indeed this is presently a bit simple. Note that my range is more based on what is typical for the terroir than what I found in this wine at present. In short, this was a bit perplexing. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
